“ The luau was a blast! Very talented. The food was very good and a wide selection. The drinks were okay, they offered a full open bar so you could choose what you wanted but they don't advertise that. The service was good & we had an awesome time watching the show w the beautiful sunset behind the stage. ”
“ This is the one and only luau we have ever been to and although certainly not inexpensive, we felt that there was a lot of value for what we paid. The buffet had plenty of options and the food was delicious. Coming from a different hotel we were pleasantly surprised by the overall organization of just moving people into the audience and getting their food. The show itself was amazing. The performers were excellent! Highly recommend. ”
“ As expected and desired, great production that entertained and educated. Food-fantastic and so tasty! Setting-first class and impressive Staff-very attentive and engaged Ceremony-very nice Don't expect much via the drive over from the airport area....and poor Lahaina is such a sad site. On the positive, enjoy greater Maui and areas off the beaten path are intriguing and provide excellent areas outside the tourism realm. ”
“ What a beautiful and fantastic experience! This was our first time in Maui and we were lucky enough to attend the Drums of the Pacific Luau at the Hyatt. The food was amazing, service was exceptional, and show absolutely gorgeous. We walked in and were greeted with warmth and able to enjoy some luau traditions. With a tattoo, Lei's, family photos by the beach, and amazing ambiance. We had a great time and would highly recommend to anyone. Also, a big shoutout to our server Rick. He made Gabe grate service to us and our kids. Our girls felt very taken care of and important. Thank you Hyatt and team. We will be back! ”
“ Come here for the show, not the food. Once you come to grips with that reality, you will have a much better experience. Being on the islands for the first time (and unfortunately probably the ONLY time in my life) I made sure I booked a Luau way in advance. And I splurged and opted for the VIP experience. The set up was a bit funky, apparently both VIP and "regular" folks were admitted at the same time and so we had to stand in line to get your picture taken. Then had to backtrack and make your way through all those people to get to the VIP entrance. Inconvenient. Once you got to the entrance though, you were greeted with a Kukui nut lei & a MaiTai and guided to your table. We ended up in the second row with a great view of the stage. The entertainment on stage was already going strong while folks were being seated. Once most folk were seated, a pig was carried from the stage towards the buffet, which was then ready for us. We got to go in order of table numbers. The food... oh well it was a buffet and since the venue is outdoors, it cooled quickly. Quite a variety of dishes were offered and I would say overall the quality was mediocre. I have had better, but I have also had worse. The waitstaff was quick and refilled MaiTais again and again, they were unlimited and quite strong. There was also a small dessert buffet on the other end of the venue. The desserts were pretty good. I really enjoyed the sunset, which progressed throughout the night. Beautiful to look at. Take a light jacket, it gets cool once the sun goes down. We enjoyed performance after performance and actually learned a lot about Hawaiian culture and history. Some performances were song and dance, others reenactments of historic events. Actors were also outside of the stage, running through the audience to the stage, or standing at various locations playing instruments, or next to the stage with the sunset as a back drop demonstrating this or that. The entire show was great, from the costumes to the dances. The highlight of course were the fire dancers once the sun had set. Amazing talent. During a small break in the show, we received our photos taken at the beginning. Included in the price for VIPs. Mine turned out great I must say. Also parking is validated, so that is always a plus for me. Just keep in mind it is quite a walk from parking to the actual Luau location. ”
“ Really great luau experience! This was our first so we didn't know what to expect. The price is higher than we expected but we are happy we tried this. Plus, you can eat and drink too your heart's content! We got the VIP tickets since we didn't book in advance. However, it seemed like 2/3 of the audience was also VIP. Plenty of seats and pretty good views at most of them. The food was good and plentiful. We actually said we didn't need more of things like salad but our server brought out more anyways. My only gripe is the white wine selection - chardonnay only. The servers were excellent and the performers seemed enthusiastic. A few seemed to be chuckling about an inside joke or maybe just not taking themselves too seriously. It made the night go fast withthe rapid-fire performances and keeping the good and drinks moving. Would recommend if you're looking for a fire dancing type show. ”
